World Food Day: Save biodiversity while eating!

and ASPnet in Action would like to invite you and your schools to participate in the three-day action campaign “Save biodiversity while eating”!

To make sure everyone has enough to eat in the face of an ever-growing world population, we will have to rethink the way we eat: Food production emits large amounts of greenhouse gases, strains water supplies, and creates a threat to ecosystems and biodiversity which are, however, essential for our future food supply. The conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity for food and agriculture, therefore, play a critical role in the fight against hunger.

What if learning was about knowledge and also about doing, being, interacting with others and changing the world?

What if formal learning was enjoyable, hands-on and relevant to life outside school while addressing the problems of our world?

What if education systems prepared learners to become responsible citizens, recognize and solve local problems...

Then we would be educating for a more sustainable future
